Misiones Argentina: mines of precious stones

This trip would be probably the most breathtaking for the women. To stay between big big "mountains" of precious and semiprecious stones... My God, is it possible? Oh yess, it's perfectly possible if you visit this province of Argentine, Misiones. It's a kind of corner between 3 countries: Argentina, Brasil and Paraguai. There are so many interesting places there, I just wrote about the waterfalls Iguazu. There are interesting ruins of the "town" of Jesuites and -these incredible places. I found this video in YouTube and think it's more clear then all the words.

More Iguazu Waterfalls Photos

Some time ago I just wrote posts where I added photos of the waterfalls of Iguazu seen from the side of Argentina. Those photos were taken by the friend of my husband when he visited the waterfalls with his family. He sent us other photos. They are so beautiful that every heart attracted by Great Water will begin to pump quicker. By the way, do you have this problem too? I like every Great Water: lakes, seas etc etc. I just began to write posts about the greatest lakes of the Earth.

Iguazu Seen From Brasile

I just wrote sonme posts about the waterfalls that are situated between Argentine and Brazile, Iguazu. Here are some photos from the zoo of the birds that you can visit if you have a walk in the Brasilian side of the National Park. Notice an interesting peculiarity: all the birds are near the persaons. I've never seen something like this. Here, in Italy, we have similar birds in the zoos but they are close in their cages -big or little, it's no matter. They are separated from the persons. There you can see the persons that can even touch these birds. I would like to do it too. :0)))

Argentinian Recipe

In our supermarkets it's possible to buy pieces of meat from Argentina now. They cost much more than Italian meats but they are really different. I need about 2 hours to cook a piece of meat from Italy and only 40 minutes if I have equal piece from Argentina. My husband when he comes from Argentina can't think about other than meat he ate there. He says, the taste is completely different.

This time I show you one of the possibilities to cook it. The photos took a friend of my husband. I think it's very clear what they used to cook. I do it more or less the same way. What is interesting for me -I've never seen such a pan for fire.

The 7 Lakes Region In Patagonia

If you like lakes, you will appreciate the "region of 7 lakes" in Argentina and the region of Bariloche. I've seen a documentary yesterday and was surprised to know, the landscapes are so different in Patagonia. This word created completely different images in my mind. I thought about the wales, pinguins and rocks maybe, but did not think, there could be a sort of Swiss there.

?????
????? ?? ??????.??????

From Swiss image you find not only lakes and forests, there is a local chocolate there. They say, it's very good. And the residents began to coltivate grapes and to produce wine. It seemed very strainge for me, I did not think about the products they have there, but in my mind I was sure, there is everything in Argentine. Own grapes and wine too.

The most interesting was for me the notice, they have entire supermarket of chocolate where you can see how they "cook" it, how they produce what they sell.

My husband told me about the incredible meat there. Infact, we have meat from Argentine in our supermarkets too. It's very different from that Italian. If you need 2 hours tocook meat from Italy, you prepare meat from Argentina in only 40 minutes and less.

Well, i've watched the meat in the documentary... I'm not surprised the Argentinians eat 60 kg of this meat every year for a person...

If You Plan To Visit Argentina

Turismo en Argentina attracts many persons and I just wrote articles about this beautiful country. It covers so different zones that is really difficult to plan the trip and include all the interesting places to visit. So it is better, if you begin with one city as Buenos Aires, or the most important for you destinations.

The list of the Hoteles en Argentina will help you to find cities where you want to stop and to choose prices and conditions that meet your wishes. This site offers you a special search tool that allows you to mark services you would like to have in the hotel. The other tool will show you only the hotels of the category you are looking for.

The special pages of the Hoteles en Buenos Aires contain not only descriptions. You can see the position of the hotel on the map, the list of services and the photos. A little tool allows you to check availability of the rooms for the period of your stay in Buenos Aires.

Tired from the life of the big cities? Plan a vacation in San Carlos de Bariloche where mountains, lakes and wild nature offer the possibilities of all related activities. Book your Hoteles en Bariloche and forget civilization. Partecipate on the excursions in the region and enjoy chocolates. Mmmm... inexpressible impressions...

Tango In The Streets

I heard so much about persons dancing tango in the streets of Buenos Aires, and asked my husband to go in that parts of the city, where is it possible to film them. But he is unbearable. "No, I did not go there because you've said me I have not to look at other women". Ohhhh!!! I wanted to kill him!!!

I like folk dances. You will remember maybe my posts about dances of different nations -I will surely continue this collection).

Dances in the streets are surely not onlty Argentinian custom. During St. Patriks days we danced in the streets of Turin, for example. It was exciting. I like it!!!

I found these 2 videos in You Tube and hope you will enjoy the music and the brave dancers.

Russian Orthodox Church In Buenos Aires

??????? ???? ? ?????????

It may be, you will not belive me, but my husband found a Russian orthodox church in Buenos Aires. The relatively old church, built in 1904 and adorned with icons and mosaics sent there by zar Nicholas II and Zarina Alexandra is situated in a beautiful park Lezama (or nearby).

??????? ???? ? ?????????

This is a classical look of the Russian churches. They are built this way at least from X-th century. What I liked when I was in Russia last time, the modern churches have the same architecture. I see many modern Catholic churches here, in Italy. As for me, I would never pay the architects for such humiliations of the House of God. THEIR God, of those architects. A photo and my thoughts about it you can read in my post about the modern churches too.

Fortunatelly, Russian Orthodox Church as institution did not arrive at this point and their Houses of God continue to enjoy the eyes of the persons.

Some Views Of Buenos Aires

?????? ?????

Buenos Aires is probably the biggest city of Argentina. I've heard in the documentary, it has the population only 3 millions of persons. Not too much. I thought, it has to be much more larger.

Do you know that in 300 largest cities of the world live about 640 million people? The largest with about 10 mil. 300 is Seoul. Buenos Aires is on the 49-th place. Maybe I've heard about So Paulo, Brazil that is the second large city of the world, and not about Buenos Aires. By the way, the second large city of Argentina, La Matanza, is only on the 235 place in the list of large cities.

My husband went in Buenos Aires for his vacations in December, and I gave him my old photocamera. In this post I want to show you some of the photos he took there. Sincerely, I was surprized to see all the photos he took. I don't know why, I did not expect, it's a normal city. I don't know what I thought it has to be. Maybe something exotic. And what I see here is a city similar to all other cities I visited in my life...

This last view is the best, I think. I did not understand, why nobody swimms there? Have to ask my husband when he turns home from work.

Salto San Martin On Iguazu

???????? ?? ??????

I continue to present you the photos of the falls on Iguazu river in Argentine. The first 2 posts,
The Power Of Attraction Of Waterfalls
Devil's Throat in Iguazu Falls,
were about the biggest of them and general information. This time I will tell you about an other of the falls, salto San Martin.

By the way, I forgot about the map. The National park of the Iguazu river is situated on the highest part of the "horn" of the top, right side. I just said you, the park had excellent organization for the tourists. You can not only walk near and over the river. There is a possibility to near the falls on the boats too. If you like this sort of experiences, you have to visit them in summer, I think. Except this, it's possible to practice water sports and climbing.

If you are interested to know everything about existing waterfalls, you can open "World Waterfall Database". There you will find the langest falls "complex" is on Mekong River in Laos (10 km contro 2,7 of Iguazu) and the highest seems to be Salto Angel in Venezuela (979 m contro 80 of Iguazu).

The Power Of Attraction Of Waterfalls

??????,?????????

In my previous post Devil's Throat in Iguazu Falls I began to tell you about the waterfalls on the river Iguazu in Argentina (and Brazil).

When I read about this trip of a friend of my husband, I thought, the humans surely are attracted by great water and falling water. Turn back to read about my trip to the Cascades of Emerald Valley I described in a serie of posts a year ago. You can see the long and breathtaking bridges that connect different levels and places where you can enjoy the entire complex. A guide told us these places are full of tourists all summer. They come there to stay days and days in the "plates" of water under every waterfall.

Now, I see similar constructions on the photos here. Imagine, they have to be longer and more numerous as those of that little waterfalls in Caucasus (but not so romantic sure). I did not understand if it's possible to swimm under Iguazu falls too. Well, they are so large and high... Probably not. It would be dangerous, I think.

In any case you see there are crowds of tourists.
Who knows, maybe humans, like elefants, have acquatic ancestors too...

Devil's Throat in Iguazu Falls

Jose Luis, an Argentinian friend of my husband, visited some interesting places in Argentina, among them Devil's Throat in Iguazu Falls. Jose Luis allowed me to use his photos for my blog, so I can "explore" this places with you sitting for our PC-s.

????? ??????? Devil's Throat in Iguazu Falls

Here you see the biggest of the waterfalls of Iguazu, Devil's Throat. It represents the state frontier between Argentina and Brasile. Both steates have national parks including these falls, so you can reach them from one and from other state. Most falls are on the territory of Argentina. The nearest cities are Foz do Iguacu (Br.) and Puerto Iguazu (Ar.)

Interesting is that this region is in the list of "New 7 Wonders of Nature".

All together there are more than 270 falls in this area and they occupy 2,7 km of the river. There are many islands and bridges, connecting them, so if you go there you can make a very nice walk and enjoy all the area from different points.

It's the second large waterfalls complex after the Victoria Falls.

Dulce de Leche in Argentina

What do you see on this photo is "Dulce de leche" and different forms of use for this product.

Why I write about this aliment in a travel blog?
Because it's a "national" product of Argentine.
And we are here in a travel-cafe or no?

Not that you don't meet it in other countries. There are many places where milk is worked in this way. It's concentrated milk with sugar boiled then for different hours, posted the tin in the pan with water.

But the Argentinians make worship with this product. They have infinite sorts of biscuits and chocolates where they use it. Some of them you can see on this photo. There are tins with pure milk like that on the left and there are all these other sweeties (on the right). I like "Bocadito" and that other biscuit in black (it's the same like other in white, but the recipe is much better).

So, if you are to go in Argentine, don't forget "Dulce de Leche"
